 Dog possessing six legs

Ollie Bird's family is still grieving the loss of their beloved dog. Amidst their sorrow, a six-legged dog arrived at their doorstep. The dog had been left in front of a shop before someone brought it to their home. Now named Ariel, the six-legged dog is thriving with a new family.

Ariel was found abandoned in front of a B&M store in Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK, last September. She was rescued by an organization called Greenacres Rescue. At the time of her rescue, Ariel was an 11-week-old Cocker Spaniel with six legs and a single kidney. Since she was a stray, her original name was unknown. After adopting her, Ollie Bird named her Ariel, inspired by a character from the Disney movie "The Little Mermaid."

Ollie Bird, 40, lives in Freshwater West, Wales, where he runs a surfing school. His family was devastated by the recent loss of their 16-year-old pet dog, who died just two days before Ariel came into their lives. They had rescued their previous dog from an abandoned beach in Freshwater West 13 years ago. The sudden death of their pet left the family heartbroken, and they initially had no plans to adopt another dog. However, the emptiness of their home without a dog led them to apply for a new pet through Greenacres Rescue. When they learned about Ariel, their interest was piqued, and they soon welcomed her into their home.

Ariel required medical treatment due to her condition, and over £15,000 was raised for her surgery. The Bird family expressed their gratitude for the support they received. Ariel is now perfectly healthy, accompanying the family everywhere. While she needs to take breaks after walking a certain distance, she can still enjoy activities like swimming and surfing in the ocean.
