Israeli forces bound the injured Palestinian to the front of the jeep.

The Israeli army is conducting an operation in the West Bank of Palestine. A video of the operation has since gone viral on social media, showing a middle-aged man being handcuffed in front of an Israeli army armored vehicle.

In the incident, the Israeli military says its forces violated protocol by tying a wounded Palestinian man to the front of their vehicle during an operation in the West Bank city of Jenin. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed the video of the incident after it went viral on social media.

The Israel Defense Forces said in a statement that the man was wounded during the shooting in the operation and was a suspect in the incident. However, the victim's family claims that Israeli forces

detained him and later tied him to the bonnet of an armored vehicle when they called for an ambulance after he was injured.

Later, the man was reportedly transferred to the Red Crescent for treatment. The Israeli Defense Forces said in a statement that the incident will be investigated.

Witnesses told Reuters news agency that the injured man was named Mujahid Azmi and identified him as a local resident.

In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces said, "Terrorists opened fire on Israeli army personnel during an anti-terrorist operation to capture suspects in the Wadi Burkin area on Saturday. The Israeli army retaliated, and one of the suspects was wounded and arrested during the gun battle. The suspect was tied to a vehicle in violation of orders and standard operating policies," the statement added.

"What is shown in the video of the incident is not in line with the behavior and values of the Israeli army," the Israel Defense Forces, or IDF, said. The statement also mentioned that the incident will be investigated and appropriate action will be taken.

Meanwhile, Hamas reported that two Israeli airstrikes on buildings in Gaza City killed at least 38 people and wounded several others. However, the Israeli military claims that the warplanes targeted Hamas' military infrastructure, and the IDF said it would provide more details later.

A spokesman for Gaza's civil authorities stated that several people were wounded in the attack on a residential block in the al-Shati area, one of Gaza's historic refugee camps.

Hamas-run state media reported that another attack targeted homes in the al-Tufah district.

Video footage of the attack showed people evacuating the injured and many searching for survivors in the rubble. After the attack, roads and houses were covered in dust and smoke. Israeli media claimed that the airstrike may have targeted a senior Hamas official.

Hossein Muhaisen, a spokesman for Gaza's civil authority, told AFP that the attack felt like a strong earthquake.

"The whole area was targeted, as you see houses destroyed. There are still many families under the rubble," he said. "Some of the injured have been taken to Baptist Hospital, and we are rescuing others from the rubble. The situation is very difficult here with the shortage of ambulances and lack of fuel."

Meanwhile, EU foreign policy chief Joseph Borrell condemned Friday's attack on the Red Cross (IRC) office in Gaza.

The IRC claimed that the attack killed at least 22 people who had taken shelter around its compound. Mr. Borrell called for an independent investigation and accountability for those responsible in his statement.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Saturday that a preliminary investigation into the attack in the al-Mawasi area of southern Gaza found that it did not directly target a Red Cross building.

The IDF also stated it would continue to investigate the incident.

On October 7 last year, 1,200 people were killed, and 251 were taken hostage by Hamas in an attack on Israeli territory. In response, Israel launched operations to dismantle Palestinian armed groups. According to the Hamas-run Health Ministry, more than 37,000 people have since been killed in Gaza. However, they did not provide separate counts for civilians and fighters.

By the end of April, 14,680 of those killed were children, women, and elderly people.

Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has warned that the conflict between Israel and Lebanon's Islamist movement Hezbollah could lead to a regional catastrophe. He blamed both sides for creating a war-like situation and called for de-escalation, stating, "the world cannot afford to let Lebanon become another Gaza."

Hezbollah and Israel have been carrying out counter-attacks against each other for the past few months. The Iran-backed group Hezbollah claims it is fighting Israel in Gaza in support of Hamas.
