Following an inconclusive initial round, citizens of Ober-Mörlen participated in a runoff election to determine their new mayor. Mario Sprengel, representing the SPD, emerged victorious in the contest.


In the runoff election held last Sunday in Ober-Mörlen (Wetterau), voters faced a choice between Mario Sprengel (SPD) and Maria Keller (CDU). Sprengel secured a clear victory with 65.9 percent of the votes, while Keller received 34.1 percent. The voter turnout was recorded at 58.2 percent.


"I am delighted with the result and grateful for the widespread support shown by our community," commented Sprengel after the election. He emphasized his commitment to serving the interests of local residents and outlined immediate plans, including improving transparency in daycare placements.


With Sprengel set to assume office, Ober-Mörlen prepares for a change in leadership at its town hall.
