There's a considerable online buzz surrounding the desire for the portrayal of a young Haymitch to be exceptionally attractive in the upcoming "Hunger Games" movie.

In case you missed the news, Suzanne Collins has unveiled a new prequel in the Hunger Games series slated for release on March 18, 2025. I'm heading to preorder it ASAP! Titled "Sunrise On The Reaping," the fifth installment will delve into the 50th anniversary of the rebellion and the second quarter quell, promising an exploration of young Haymitch's story for eager Hunger Games fans.

But wait, there's more! Lionsgate recently announced that the movie adaptation is set to hit theaters on November 20, 2026. Needless to say, this revelation has set the internet abuzz, and who can blame them?

In case it slipped your mind, the 50th Hunger Games held immense significance as the arena was designed as a paradise, granting Haymitch a notable advantage while leaving other tributes in awe—no spoilers beyond that! Set 24 years prior to Katniss Everdeen's era, "Sunrise On The Reaping" offers a fresh narrative in the Hunger Games universe. With fan edits and fan casts surfacing, the burning question remains: who will portray a young Haymitch Abernathy? According to internet chatter, the actor has big shoes to fill, with emphasis on being attractive.

Following the acclaim of "Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes," it's no wonder attention has shifted to casting for Haymitch's role. Particularly after the fervor surrounding Tom Blyth's portrayal as a young President Snow—I mean, that lake scene? Absolutely captivating.

Some fans are eagerly speculating whether Blyth will reprise his role in the upcoming movie—fingers crossed!

The speculation about who will portray Haymitch in the movie is already rampant, although it might be too early for the official cast announcement.

There's a faction of fans rooting for Josh Hutcherson to make a return to the Hunger Games arena, but in my opinion, it's unlikely given his iconic role as Peeta in the original Hunger Games series.

Renowned for his portrayal of David Von Erich in "The Iron Claw," Harris Dickinson emerges as a prime contender to embody the rugged, yet complex character of Haymitch, according to fan speculation.
